Given how most anime studios handle CG, I'm surprised I liked the CG dragon fight.
Though, they definitely should've expanded more on Tyuule and Delilah's background.

Wow...the JASDF did not attack the dragon at all. How fucking smart and I'm not being sarcastic. In real life, that's what the military does before attacking like a bunch of idiots. Or maybe they're just a bunch of reconnaissance planes.

Now I see why Itami decided not to bring his squad members. That dragon is smarter than I thought.

Best episode of the second season so far....even though the pacing is going a bit too fast.

So Deliah hates Tyuule thinking she betrayed her clan, but followed her orders? Or did Tyuule trick her with the stolen seal from Italica? Slightly confused here.

You have to wonder if Deliah and that one guy are going to be ok. It seems that Tyuule faked her death, because Deliah didn't know she was alive. Either way, shit is going to go down.
LauraBirdie said:
Is that all the explanation we're going to get concerning Tyuule's backstory? I hope not. Didn't really feel like the connection between her and Delilah was explained properly
The problem is the flashback was from Tyuule's POV only. We didn't get the one from Delilah's POV in the anime.

Basically, Tyuule turned herself in in order to save the bunny people. Then, the empire's messenger told the bunnies that their queen had turned herself in to save her own ass, so they had only two choices that is to surrender or to die.

What the JASDF really needs to take out the flame dragon is an A-10 Warthog. The Warthog's job is to take out tanks and has the firepower to punch through armor. But the JASDF doesn't have any A-10 aircraft.
Isn't the A-10 Warthog meant to be used as a Closed-Air Support (CAS) only? That dragon flies and it is pretty smart (based on what I've seen). The moment that A-10 dives, the dragon will most likely spot the A-10 and it will fly away.

Another really good episode, I feel that the anime is starting to get a lot more darker which is good since manga readers say its supposed to be more dark. I really enjoyed seeing everything happening on 2 sides, one being with Itami and the girls fighting the dragon and the other side is at the base with Tyuule trying to start a war by trying to get Noriko killed. It was interesting to see Delilah totally different and both her and Yanagida both in critical care. Then you have poor Tuka having to go through all that but hopefully when they kill that damn dragon everything will be better for her. Overall a pretty good darker episode with a ton of things going on to build up to these next coming episodes and I can't wait for next week!

I honestly thought that Delilah wasn't going to go through with it, although the fact that she thought her own clan was ordering it and Noriko's apparent willingness probably tipped the scale. Still, I hope they both pull through.

Handing the RPG to Tuka probably wasn't tactically sound, but I suppose a splash of revenge might help shake her out of her delusion -- although now that Itami shattered it without her even hitting the dragon, she might be even worse off now. That kind of weapon didn't really do much against the dragon last time though (except drive it off) so I'm not sure what good it would have done even if she did hit it.

Really not sure what Itami's plan was on this whole mission, even if he had a bit of an excuse this time due to being ambushed. Maybe they left a better weapon in the car? Or perhaps he's just counting on HQ to back them up. Either way though, no wonder everyone kept calling him an idiot this episode.

Looks like I was wrong about Tyuule's motivation, though. She's just a crazy bitch.

"Follow your heart" he says. So I guess getting revenge is the message they are trying to give us. I'm not sure I like the concept at all. Even if they kill the dragon Tuka won't be getting her father back and it doesn't seem like it will help her come to terms with his death either.

I did like the scene with Delilah and Yanagida. It brought a lot of tension that I felt was lacking so far. This show has it's hands full with characters nearing mental breakdowns. First it's Tuka and now it's Noriko, and then we learn about Itami's mom who might've had one as well.

In her PoV, she's someone who sacrificed herself to save her people. In other words, she sees herself as the savior/messiah of the warrior bunnies. That's why she's proud of it.

Another intense episode.

Delilah Vs Yanagida was epic, even though reinforcements came, it didn't deter Delilah as she landed a blow on Yanagida, who in return, lost his temper and shot her multiple times at point blank range. I'm hoping he survives his wound. Delilah,on the other hand, should be tried and locked up if she survives though.

The pilot reconnaissance with the dragon was amusing, with the one pilot getting too ahead on himself and got his fighter plane burnt. No wonder the old mechanic gave him a verbal battering! XD

Then came the encounter with Itami's group and the dragon. Even Rory was having a difficult time trying to land any decent amount of damage on the dragon. Itami looks like he's finally succeeded at getting Luka to snap out of her delusion that her father is still alive, but at the expense of a vital missile missing the dragon completely.

I doubt that the dragon will be defeated in the next episode, but I'm guessing that it'll be taken down sooner or later.

Also, I couldn't care less about the others here who complain about the dragon being CGI or not. For CGI standards, A-1 have done a good job on the dragon's design and animation sequences so far. =D

Some of the omitted details are proven to be important though. The proofs are right here in this forum, many anime only viewers questioned several things about the bunnies. Those confusions wouldn't have happened if only the anime included a little more of the warrior bunnies tale.

thing is anime fans are so used to spoonfed exposition that they lack basic understanding of storytelling

She was a spy for House Formal, the Bunny Queen used the papers the butler stole and forged a order from Italica.

So she acted on assumption that it was real orders from House Formal.

She realllllly hates Tyule and wants to kill her, since she blames the massacre of the Bunny tribes on the Queen.

Yes, they are. This covered most of chapters 39-42 of the manga, out of 52 published so far. So things are really moving along. At this rate, three more episodes could finish off the fire dragon arc. Since the next episode is titled "Decisive Battle", it's pretty clear what's coming up.

They skipped a lot of police-procedural stuff as the JSDF investigates Delilah. But that's OK. They show the general ordering Combat Team 1, under a full colonel, to get ready. In the manga, we get to see what Combat Team 1 is, and see it moving out and travelling. They've also skipped Yao reuniting with her people, which is a long, talky scene. They're not cutting anything critical to the plot.

I'm not sure, but a while back, i think i heard that the writer of the novel/manga is a guy who worked in the JSDF as a soldier or something.

Poor Deliah...So beautiful Voice and song.....and in the end, used by her Traitorous Former Queen....T.T poor Yanagida too... First for having to Plan this kind of thing to Itami, so he could go there to Kill a Dragon...then have to Explain, TO GENERAL, that sthat explanation...and Now they started to use it for advancing their War Machines to kill the Dragon..

and then he arrived Just right time to save Noriko, but was Wrong place when opponent was Member of Deadly Warrior Bunny Race Elite Deliah.

those Reactions and Worries of the Civilians and Demi-human/Non-human races were realistic... if it was any Nation from this Gate World...Medieval world...they would have slaughtered them for hurting a human.

Tyuule..just pushed the Hornets nest....while it may take time for them to find that it was she, She will be caught....I am sure of it....they cannot let her go unpunished.

And It Is here...ROUND 2...Itami and Co. Versus Wounded Fire Dragon.. Here it begins

That's not something that Deliah is to blame for, though. She had no idea what the intent of the order was, or what would happen if she carried it out. She is guilty of just the attempted murders, not trying to start a war.

just to clear a misconception people seem to be having:
From the LN: "Delilah couldn't dodge bullets once their were fired, but she could evade yanagida's sights"
but i gotta say that i'm hoping for the tyuule/delilah relashionship to be explored more in depth later on, the only thing we learned in the EP is that they know each other and the bunnies were fucked by the empire.
liked the CG quality a lot, though the movements were a bit clunky at times
