- The plaintiff says he hired the defendant to look after his two dogs, but she lost one of them. She claimed the dog got out after seeing a bunny and chased it. He still hasn’t found his beloved pet, so he’s suing for $3,500. The defendant says it wasn’t her fault the dog bolted and she did offer to help him look. She’s countersuing for the dog-sitting fees and defamation.

Someone found Coco and is keeping her. The house that backs up diagonally to mine had my chihuahua and kept her inside for 3 days. She got out and we had flyers everywhere and put an ad in the newspaper and on Craigslist (this was before fb) plus they had seen me walking her every day. Luckily my best friend lived next door to them and she called me so we went to their house and got Lulu back. People will keep a dog knowing someone’s looking for it
My next door neighbors stole my dog out of my yard, and kept denying ever seeing my dog. I went to hundreds of people's home in 90+ degree weather, walking for miles, every day, for a week. Even gave them a flyer, thinking the dog got out, and was lost... turned out they stole the dog directly out of my yard and gave the dog to a family member across the city. Another neighbor finally snitched on them and we finally got her back after some threats... You can't trust anyone.

The defendant was being petty filing a counter claim girl you lost his dog, people don’t be taking accountability for anything, if she was a real friend she would have automatically knew she needed to reimburse him but I would have made sure she knew that first hand all that keke’n and having movie nights no mam first things first you paying for this dog &putting up flyers for the dog she lost was the least she can do she act like she was doing some grand gesture of kindness. She didn’t “lose” that dog: there’s no way that little dog got out and blocks away unnoticed in five minutes, especially with the boyfriend standing literally right outside. She kept that dog, or something happened to it prior to him coming home, but she didn’t know how to tell him and panicked when he called, making up a dumb story to try and get off the hook

It happened to me in NYC my mother left the gate opened she ran out. She was outside for over 4 hours. No one said anything my father was asleep she finally said something. You'll know if she's not around she stays around ppl like a kid. I didn't know till 5pm which pissed me off. If I knew in the morning she'd have been found. I had to post on her photos citizens app. Thank goodness someone found her in am dropped her off at the local police precinct in the morning. She was shivering outside in the cold Feb. She saw her driving down a busy street. I'm so thankful wish they gave her name.

Judge Milian doesn't use common sense sometimes. No one has turned his dog into a vet because it is an expensive designer dog. If they have Coco they want to keep her most likely. And will not take her to be scanned. She needs to chill on trying to be right constantly and be more respectful or her litigants.

He was trying to explain to the judge that the vet wouldn't know to scan the dog if it's not wear the tag he had in his hand but as usual the judge just kept cutting him off.
If that’s the case the chip is absolutely useless. Info is already on the collar you shouldn’t have to depend on a collar to scan an internal chip.

The chip isn't a magic dog finding tool. Only when its read out it gives the name and owner and so on. Coco could be with people who want to keep her. And they probably never had the chip checked

Microchip turned out worthwhile for me.
My dog, a Labrador x American staffy was returned just over 2 years later and what a reunion it was. That said, I certainly feel for the owner of coco as it was heartbreaking to inevitably lose my dog for a second time when I had to make that difficult but kind decision later on.
Coco didn’t have a microchip. She had a registered tracker. Unless the person who found her takes her to a vet to scan it, then the dog likely won’t be found.
I believe whoever found her kept her.

defendant was totally irresponsible. Milian made me so angry. Her arrogance and ignorance on many topics is astounding. There are multiple chipping systems. The chip isn’t an air tag. Unless the vet or charity has the SAME scanner, the chip is useless.
She keeps doing this. I took a break from watching her cases because of it. Came back she did it again.
Most scanners will work on any type of chip. But, the dog has to be scanned. A chip isn't a locator beacon. If someone is keeping her intentionally, they obviously won't take her to be scanned.

I was thinking the same thing. It’s not a freaking GPS. The dog must be scanned in order for them to call the owner. Vets don’t ever scan a dog unless it’s requested.
Yeah they don't have to have the same scanner. They have universal scanners to scan any chip. It sounds as if she was confusing microchip and GPS tracker but she knew what she was talking about. She just doesn't realize that she was implying everyone who found a lost dog would do the right thing. She couldn't believe that someone hadn't brought her to a vet or pound to be scanned. Which idk why she would be surprised, she did work in the system. She should know a lot of people aren't honest.

I was thinking that myself, but then she clarified that she meant as soon as a vet scans the chip it would have a missing flag and he's get a call to pick up the dog - but the owner has to have taken the time to have the dog listed as missing through the chip company, which it seems this guy can't be bothered doing 🙄

@@heftyelf if the dog is brought in by someone who admits they aren't the owner, the dog is automatically assumed to be missing and the owner is contacted. How do I know? My dog was returned via chip without listing as missing.

I lost it at 7am ,thinking my dog was lost outside. I’m crying big tears and snot to find him in the house I kept crying tears of joy tho because that would of been a bad day for me .

(the person who finds the dog often wants to keep it) The kicker is that putting Lost and Found ads in city papers are FREE.

Poor Coco few years ago we found a stray dog, cleaned him up & brought him to the vet tracked down his family turns out somebody had stolen that dog in 2017 from the owners and then just abandoned him miles away from home.
