The great saphenous vein lies in the superficial fascia and is easily seen (actually the word saphenous comes from greek and means easily seen).
It is formed on the dorsum of foot by the union of the medial end of the dorsal venous arch of the foot and medial marginal vein of the foot. The vein runs upward about 2.5 cm in front of the medial malleolus, crosses obliquely the medial surface of the lower third of tibia, and then ascends a little behind the medial border of tibia to reach the knee, where it lies on the posteromedial aspect of the knee joint. From here it runs upward along the medial side of the thigh to reach the saphenous opening (fossa
ovalis). It passes through the saphenous opening and drains into the femoral vein.
    THE SMALL SAPHENOUS VEIN
It is formed below and behind the lateral malleolus by the union of the lateral end of the dorsal venous arch, and the lateral marginal vein of foot.
It runs upward behind the lateral malleolus. Thereafter it runs in the middle of the back of
the leg, pierces the deep fascia, and undergoes a subfascial course between the two heads of the gastrocnemius until it reaches the middle of the popliteal fossa. Here it turns inward to terminate into the popliteal vein.

O luna fara efort fizic... Ma simt ok, dar dupa, sa zic vreo 15 min - 20 min de mers, stat in picioare... Simt presiune, suportabila in picior, cu senzatie de umflare... Cred, ca e normal... Ptr perioada asta... In fine... Aveti un video foarte interesant..., dupa accent sunteti roman 🙂💪

I got my saphenous vein removed. What could this mean for me? I’m 18 and I want to take care of it. Idk if you’ll still see this. I’ve gotten a cramp there doing exercises few hours before. I got the cramp I think because I was sitting wrong with my leg up with compression. My leg is still swollen removing the vein wasn’t for sure gonna stop the swelling. Idk I slightly feel regret. Do you know the affects?

How are you feeling today since you had a removed? And did you actually have a removed? Did you have it sealed off? like is it still in your body?

@@Texasgirl2023 sealed off. Only get a clink nose when I raise my knee. Feels compress when I’m running around a lot. Swelling it there and my chest bothers at time. When I get my money right I’ll be going to the doctor for a few things. Thanks for responding
