Donald trump is the american Adolf Hitler

Son, trump agrees with this guy about getting rid of muslims, right ? Replace "muslims" by "jews" and thaty's exactly was Hitler was about.
Now how exactly would he do that ? Would he deprive US citizenship to muslim, round them up and deport them to some random muslim country ? Would he put muslims into camps ?

When Hitler was elected in 1932, the german people were crushed by a disastrous economy crisis, they had lost their faith in their politicians. Hitler said them they were the greatest of all peoples, that his would restore Germany's greatness, that everything that was going wrong in the country could be fixed easily by getting rid of those who were litteraly stealing good german citizens. And the more popularity he gained, the more the medias treated him and his hate propaganda just like normal political speech.
This is exactly what's happening with Trump (except that the American economy is much better than how the german economy was in 1932).

Donald Trump is the american Adolf Hitler. And Roger Ailes is the american Joseph Goebbels.

Let us not forget that his grandfather was german, and after he made his initial breakthrough, he went back to Germany to get himself a wife, Donald's mother. So the good old DNA is running strong in him.

I think he Plays the inflammatory rhetoric more as a way to stay ahead of the republican game. But the talk of scratching the 14th Amendment and even actively deporting people is nazi terrain, and by openly talking about it, we have seen people acting out on what their idols talk about. And Trump can wash his bloody hands and say, "I nver did nothing!"

Godwin's Law (or Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies)[1][2] is an Internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1"[2][3]— that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or Nazism.

Promulgated by American attorney and author Mike Godwin in 1990,[2] Godwin's Law originally referred specifically to Usenet newsgroup discussions.[4] It is now applied to any threaded online discussion, such as Internet forums, chat rooms, and blog comment threads, as well as to speeches, articles, and other rhetoric.[5][6]

In 2012, "Godwin's Law" became an entry in the third edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.

Lol @ the guy asking the "question." He was laying on the angry birther routine a little thick don't ya think? If you're going to be a plant, be more subtle about it or take acting lessons.

Actually, not this. Godwin's law applies when the assertion has no basis in fact. Johan supported his claim with several comparisons. Godwin's law doesn't preclude making legitimate comparisons.

Yeah, Donald Trump wants to usher in an American Third Reich. That's just as stupid as what that obvious plant said in that town hall meeting.

Even if Trump is the reincarnation of the Führer himself and is elected, unlike Germany in the 1930s or other countries with totalitarian regimes, we don't revere our leaders as saviors or attempt to deify them. We have a healthy irreverence for our elected leaders and don't get a thrill going up our leg when we hear them speak. At least some of us don't.

We still have a system of checks and balances (in theory), and we're armed to the teeth.

A plant by whom? Trump wants the Birther Crazies support but doesn't want it brought up to drive the others off. Did you see the faces of others there? After a similar question a couple of minutes later Trump got out of there earlier than planed.

"don't attempt to deify them" REALLY?!!! Where have you been? Republicans have been doing just that for Reagan for decades. There was serious talk about adding to Mt. Rushmore!

I would concur. Germany during the Weimar era had little to nothing in common with the present-day USA. The world economic depression hit Germany harder than any other country on earth and, in the aftermath of the shackles that were place on them by the Treaty of Versailles, conditions were ripe for the rise of a despot like Hitler. We're not in that situation by a longshot, regardless of how bad one thinks things have gotten here in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Despite his inflammatory rhetoric and lack of political decorum, comparing Trump to Hitler is ludicrous.

I don't disagree in principle. However, Reagan is not held in such high regard universally by any means and nor anywhere close to the degree to which Hitler was deified. Also, those who deify Reagan do so voluntarily. Hitler's image as the infallible Führer was the official viewpoint of the state....a cult of personality that was literally forced upon the German populace by Goebbels' propaganda machine. Trump will never have such state-sanctioned validation in this regard.

Gee, I wonder. The first line that was audible struck me which was "I'm (so and so) from White Plains, amen" (i.e., CHRISTIAN) and followed by "“We have a problem in this country. It’s called Muslims. We know our current president is one, we know he isn’t even an American,” the questioner told Trump. “When can we get rid of them?

Really? "When can we get rid of them?" That doesn't seem odd or over the top to you? Like someone trying too hard. Nevermind the exaggerated and unnatural inflection. And even if this guy was genuine, Trump's response was basically blowing him off diplomatically (or like a politician) "yeah, yeah, we'll look into that." Yeah, just like HITLER.

The comparison is so f'n stupid.

As far as Reagan goes, I was like 4 when he left office but wanting to add him to Mt. Rushmore is hardly deifying him, no more than we've deified those 4 other guys who are on there now.

What I had in mind was more like these guys:

Or this school in Pyongyang:

Neither one of these videos prove anything. Those kids in the second one don't look Korean to me....looks like a staged effort to take advantage of young kids' willingness to follow orders from adults whose only aim is to manipulate them. How totalitarian is that?? I'm no Obama fan by any means but let's not make more out of things than what they really are by putting up contrived offers of evidence. It doesn't work and makes you appear to have a blind and biased agenda which only serves to obfuscate your credibility. I would expect something like this from Willie....not you. Maybe you're just mad at knowone for his allegations but it doesn't justify this response. Be above this is my advice. Sometimes you need to just bite your tongue. No offense meant....just my :2 cents:.

Thanks for your advice, as I believe it was well-intentioned. And expecting more of me than Will E Worm I think I can take as a compliment (face palm in 3...2...1).

Those videos were a response to knowone's claims. As I said, I don't have anything to draw on when it comes to the Reagan presidency other than after the fact. I know alot of people admire him greatly now. History tends to be kinder than in real time. I just remember Chris Matthews on MSNBC having a virtual (or maybe actual) orgasm on air after hearing Obama speak and the almost messianic way some of Obama's supporters were looking up to him when he was first elected. Of course they were going to be let down. And a bunch of school kids being coached into singing a song of praise to a sitting president just seemed creepy.

But yeah, none of that compares to the cult of personality and outright worship with Hitler in Germany and literally with Hirohito in Japan.

Our presidents are our employees. Actually more than that. With the oath they take, they are our servants. We are their bosses.
